What's on my Machine Now

The bodice

Working on the sleeve
This dress needs to be ready for a competition on Saturday or a little girl, my little girl, who has worked incredibly hard for the last 18 months, will be heart broken.  I really am trying.  My biggest problem is having the materials to hand.  I just called my beloved Sew Essential to RUSH me my third order of sticky-backed stabiliser.  Who knew just how much of that stuff one aged 7 dress would need?

I have to get this thing embroidered before I can sew it up.   I have the lining sewed up, and the bias strips for ruffles finished in satin bias tape with a fishing-line running through the hem to stiffen the ruffles.  But, nothing can be put together until the embroidery is done.  It's the bottle-neck in this operation.

Wish me luck friends!

Also, should you ever want to sew your own Irish Dance Dress,  TaoKnitter is the sight to go to for digitised embroidery designs.  Ann, the designer/owner could not be kinder or more supportive.
