Melanie's NY Home Tour...(Via Made By Girl)

Hello everyone, how are you? I'm finally in NYC and in one piece. Thank God! I have to say the minute I landed the weather turned into humid & rainy MESS. Actually, I knew it would, I had peeked at the forecast a few days ago. Awful huh? This means BAD HAIR day.....oh well, at least the hotel made up for it.

I'm staying at the Royalton & they were nice enough to give me a room with a large balcony that faces the street on the 14th floor! It's sooo cute! I promise I'll post pictures sometime tomorrow or Wednesday!

In the meanwhile, check out another cute place, this NYC pad belongs to Melanie from Luxury Monograms. You must have seen her monogrammed home decor, it's been featured on several blogs already - my favorite is the leopard print place mats!

She also blogs on the Iconic Blog, which is a really neat blog mostly about fashion & Interior Design.

When I asked Melanie what she liked best about her place she responded:

What I love most about my home is the location. I have wanted to live in NYC for years, so to finally have a place here is such a dream. I had so much fun decorating the place and trying to utilize every last square inch.

I love to entertain, so an open kitchen is a must. We have since thrown many parties here and love the flow of the living/dining space.

A Student's Budget Friendly Home...(Via Made By Girl)

I love home tours & ours is almost coming to an end.  However, it did so well I may do another call for submissions late NEXT MONTH - we'll see! Either way, I tend to really appreciate a home that looks lived in and makes you feel like you can also do something similar! They're real.

So that's why the home tours here are SIMPLE, real and mostly AFFORDABLE. This next one is by a student in Norway who also blogs at Passion For Poison

I'm certain that for MANY of you.... when you see HIGH END homes being featured you may not be able to relate...it leaves you thinking......"a $3,000 dresser?? I might as well keep my West Elm one for now".

The decor may be a tad bit out of reach as well as the ability to hire an Interior Designer, not a chance.......I can see why so many decide to DIY.

In fact she's been decorating on a budget because of school costs and has managed to decorate her office for only $230!!  She used OLD furniture as well as adding a few small inexpensive details to the mix!

So, if you're a student living on a BUDGET, Johanna's place can definitely serve as inspiration!

thanks to Jannica for sending this home to me!

Kobie's Home in Australia...(Via Made By Girl)

How is everyone today? Tuesday is here & we have some great weather even though the wind is a bit crazy....how's the weather where you are?

Today I'm featuring Kobie's home. She's a blogger who lives all the way in Australia. Even though I've never visited AU, I have lots of Made By Girl customers who live there....So I'm very familiar with many parts of it!  Interestingly enough, Kobie SOLD her home on April 20th (about a week ago) so you're actually looking at the way she used to live....!

She told me she describes her living style as modern & clean with a quirky edge!  She tends to look for interesting items to add to her home decor.  For me, I really love her courtyard especially the exposed brick walls....it looks so relaxing don't you think?

By the way you can also head over to Kobie's blog  Chic Girl Designs for more!

Jane's Home Tour...(Via Made By Girl)

This Friday, I'm featuring Jane's home....she blogs over at Modern Jane Blog where you can catch her writing about design, inspiration & renovation projects within her own home! Her place is cozy & simple with a few splashes of color.

I enjoyed this tour, especially the way she adorned all the items on her mantle...the ceramics are especially pretty!  I LOVE ceramics, I have some lots of different ones on my office bookshelf I just can't get enough! Ceramics tend to fill in small spaces really well..or balance things out.

I noticed she placed only white accessories on her mantle...normally, I wouldn't have thought of adding only all white accessories, but it really works here. The bar area is another area I loved with the bottles of San Pellegrino...how about you?

Home Tour...(Via Made By Girl)

I feel pretty DUMB admitting to this BUT someone named Kara shot this home tour & I just can't find her submission email!  If you know who they belong to, PLEASE let me know so I can LINK back & give her credit! My apologies....

Now, onto this home.....it's so clean & crisp! It reminds me of a home that's just being moved into where they decided to position ONLY their favorite pieces first! The kitchen has got to be my absolute favorite...can you guess why!!?

UPDATE: Photos are by Kara Shurtliff

However, the only space I couldn't quite figure out was the blue cabinet area, looks like a kitchen, but I don't see appliances or a stove..any ideas ? Laundry room? Enjoy!
