Style Damsel - Jacket In Other Colours!

We've decided to play around with the color palette a little, and we asked ourselves, what comes after White-and-Black?

Black-and-White! And thus we did a color reversal on our highly sought-for Tuxedo Jacket to get this:

Its front bodice can be worn down like a typical trench coat, or buttoned up to reveal the contrasting undersides:

Style Damsel Tips - The Empire Dress

Veritably and plausibly the most versatile dress - whether for work, leisure, or the all-time stressful Prom Night - an Empire Dress can almost never go wrong on you.

Let's begin this lesson in fashion first, with a typical empire dress.

Noticably, an empire dress, or sometimes termed as an empire waist dress, typically sits high on the waist.

A more formal and rigorous definition via About.com gives:

Definition: A type of dress or top where the waist line is raised above the natural waistline, sometimes as high as right below the bust. Best on slender-on-top or petite figures, the empire dress creates the illusion of length and camouflages a bottom-heavy figure or thick waist.

Pronunciation: om-peer

So whilst empire tubes are probably more in favor amongst the younger crowds, the fashion forward ladies should have at least 1 empire dress in their closets - after all, it is quite the timeless dress. Whether you're in your teens going for that huge Prom Night:

or in your 20's when life has truly began and you'll be meeting lots of people, or in your 30's when you've established yourself:

or in your 40's looking all fine and gorgeous,

or even for your wedding dress:

- you know an empire dress will always come in handy.

Fashion Is Plastic

I'm in love with Phu Chu Kang.
Well, not exactly the moley contractor guy, but those bright hot yellow boots.

Though, it's not so ubiquitous here in sunny Singapore - since our government loves to pamper us with leveled roads and proper tilings - but I still got my wellingtons from London.

Surprising, they are comfortable to be in. Soft, flexible, and best of it all...CUTE!

My wellingtons
My very own

They cost me about GBP30, that converts to about SGD87. The shop owner told me they were used for gardening, but that's just as far as it goes. I always believe personal style is yours to interpret.

Online shop Bootkidz sells really cute wellies, ranging from sizes 4-9, depending on the designs.

If online shopping ain't your cuppa, try dropping by 33 Erskine Road. Located at the ground floor, Eggthree, is a trendy lifestyle concept store founded by three partners. They were the only local people who brought in stylish wellingtons back when they were only fit for wrinkled-face gardeners.

Alternatively, you can visit the newly refurbished Raffles City Shopping Centre, that houses a novo fashion retail store which bring in independent labels like J.Lo, Betsey Johnsen, Francesca Biasa, etc.
(I spotted some high-end Wellingtons when I was there last week)
They have more sophisticated prints like animal-skin motifs; leopards and zebras.

Be sure to be bold & stylish!
