My Master Closet is Done....

Don't hate me because I'm beautiful...remember that commercial with Kelly LeBrock? - Well, don't hate me because my closet has gotten BIGGER! Ha! Well, It is complete & now I feel like I have a place for almost everything!  It feels amazing to be this organized, know what I mean? 


I think I would FREAK OUT everyday if my closet wasn't neat & organized!! Creating extra shelving IS DEFINITELY a great way to keep things in place & organized...I can't say it enough. 

For this side of my closet, I decided to add some leopard print wallpaper that I purchased online via Interior Mall. 

I like that it adds to that boutique look that I was going for & also adds some depth to this wall. Having so many clutches- I needed a specific place to display them.  We figured that building little cubbies made sense and it would feel like I was shopping for clutches, which I love!  

I also saved a section to the right hand side of this wall for longer hanging items. The boards were all purchased at Home Depot and stained to match the rest of the closet which gives it a consistent feel. The bottom half of the closet is reserved for my clothes hamper and maybe a pair of boots. 


It's an UGLY hamper, so I may end up buying another one that's more aesthetically pleasing & still functional!

Closet Freak....(Via Made By Girl)

Welcome back everyone!!

Women are FASCINATED by closets.

I DEFINITELY know that one of my favorite parts of my home is my closet space!! It's roomy, glamorous & so useful.  In there's a growing trend of MEN that are into closets too! It's not just us LADIES anymore....
 

So, with that in mind...I decided to pull together  a few closets I thought you'd enjoy! You'll notice some are for women as well as for couples and one in particular was made just for a man- which I thought was super luxurious & totally MASCULINE.

This reminds me, my guy STILL hasn't gotten around to doing his closet yet....he's been soo busy!

above: I really LOVED the sheer size of this closet. It reminds me of a boutique, with the cute light fixtures...don't you think??!? The brick wall at the end really gives it some character and the dresser adds an interesting touch!

Dana's Closet...(Made By Girl)

Welcome back! Monday again....and it's back to work for most of us!  Most of the weekend was SUPER rainy here...& of course today is sunny!

Anyhow, today I'd like to introduce you to Dana who was kind enough to share her lovely closet with Made By Girl!  Dana is also a blogger who blogs at Shopaholic via Romania. The first time I saw these pictures, I thought...this is my kind of closet.... an entire room that feels like a small boutique! Cool huh?

I'll let Dana tell you a little bit about it: 

This is my walk-in closet :) It is an entire room dedicated to all my clothes
& shoes & bags & jewelry. 
It is made entirely with an IKEA closet system (Stolmen). I also have a very
old sewing machine (gift from my mother) and a tall mirror with wood frames.

My favorite part? The shoe shelves, obviously! Enjoy!

Real People, Real Closets: Gloria's Closet...

Hello everyone! I'm still here.....and guess what?!? 

I have another cute closet sent to me....this time by Gloria from A Little Paint blog. All things considered, Gloria has a pretty small closet. However, she managed to highlight things by painting the walls a blue color & adding some turquoise hangers for interest! And....how pretty is that chandelier??

Here's Gloria explaining a few things about her closet:

It definitely is not a Mariah Carey, but it works for me. It's completely average in size, so I worked some magic to get it to function to its fullest. I found some old drawers, painted and mounted them onto the wall and its the perfect spot to stash my belts and other accessories. 

My favorite part about it is how girlie it is. I love that it is MY personal space and I didn't have to be conscious of my husband when putting it together. As far as what's inside... It's the dresses that I love the most. 

It may not look like it, but I have about 75 dresses crammed in there. Okay, wait, it's definitely a tie between the dresses and the chandelier.

ABOVE: Bradley from Luella June blog shares with us her favorite part of her closet!

First and foremost, I'm an accessories girl. Scarves, jewelry, handbags, belts - they're always what make a look work for me. My "collection" started to overflow, so I realized I needed a little spot to house my accessories. I actually took this shelf from an exercise room in my parents' old house (my dad didn't exactly enjoy helping me get this heavy into my apartment). It's nailed against the wall in my closet and it's a perfect place to keep all of my accessories.

I keep the jewelry on the middle shelves and my clutches in the top shelf. (There are 3 pull out drawers at the bottom that keep scarves and belts.) The cork board on the back wall is a recent addition. I use it to pin up inspiration pictures and different looks I love. 

It's my favorite spot in my closet for a couple of reasons: (1) my very favorite things that I own are in those shelves and (2) I love being able to see it all! I've learned that if you can't see what you have, you're much more likely not to wear it. It's a happy place in my closet!

Valentina tells us:  The closet is a whole room, my hubby painted the walls himself, and the rest of the furniture we got from Ikea!

ABOVE: Janice submitted her closet and it resembled a little boutique, too cute! I'll let Janice explain a little about her closet & how it came about.

My husband and I moved into a narrow rowhouse in downtown Toronto and for some reason, people in 1901 didn't need as much closet space as us modern girls :-)

So to prevent any disputes about who gets to hang what and where, my husband graciously offered up the third bedroom to be my 'girly room' (as he calls it).

As this isn't our forever house, I wasn't keen on doing anything permanent, so we went with the Ikea Stolmen system for the closet - it uses pressure on the floor and ceiling to keep it upright. Of course it is also great as it puts all my clothes on display!!

The room isn't perfect yet (always a work in progress) but it has been a definite marriage saver :-) I think that is my favourite part about it!!

I have plans on painting the vanity and switching out the chair, but that is on the list for this summer.

I've loved my modern Phoenix home's closet for the past three years (having two windows is killer) but had not taken the time until recently to buy new matching quality hangers and let me tell you what a difference it has made!  


I constantly edit my closet and have the self-imposed rule purge before purchase.  Color coordinating has really helped me see my clothes and now I can find everything super fast.  In the future I'd like to spice it up a little by adding a rug, some accessories and a mod bench.  Enjoy!

Camila's Closet Space in Brazil...

Camila lives all the way in Brazil & it's so cool to see what others from across the ocean have done with their closet space!  Camila says that she recently did a RENOVATION in her home & told us that her closet was one of the most important parts of the re-do! 

She decided to take advantage of every inch of space by placing her office & closet within the same area. It works out quite nicely - don't you think?? Looks super cozy too!

This configuration would be extremely convenient in SMALLER apartments where the space is very limited!

Gemma's Vintage Wardrobe...(Via Made By Girl)

I've always loved the idea of having a walk-in wardrobe.  Not a walk-in closet but an ENTIRE room where I could get dressed & store all my handbags, clothes, and so on!
 
Know what I mean?? Aren't those the coolest??  

Well, fellow blogger and reader of Made By Girl, Gemma Thomas has one of these pretty ward robes and was kind enough to share it with all of us! Her closet space gives off a powerful vintage vibe, don't you think??  


I'm not surprised because Gemma runs an online boutique full of vintage home wares & novelty gifts! She also blogs at Love Gemsy, where you can learn a bit more about her and the things she's working on!
