Im not a bag person. I can get away with any satchel or plain black bag in my opinion. It is but lovely to know people who have a huge bag collection but it is clearly not for me. Eco bags are honestly fine with me but 3 days ago , my cute aunt from Japan sent me this Cabane de Zucca bag as a bday gift. Now all i need is Don Protasio's spring summer 2010 neon leggings to pair it with ! A perfect arm candy for the rainy season since its waterproof all over. simple as that.

If there's a collection this Holiday 2011 which is closest to my heart , it would be Mike Lavarez's . The pieces almost spoke to me , making me remember how I started being interested in fashion. It was the time when DIY is almost everywhere and ripping pants and shredding shirts are like the most important thing in the world. But Mike Lavarez , being a cerebral and artsy designer , made a thin line between DIY and design.. Grungy may be the first impression but as the show went on, you'll understand a clearer and deeper vision. Its a mix of urban and sportswear . The play of soft drapes , the loose tank tops with random appendages which is multi functional , and unusual patterns make me even more admire his work because his pieces still have a "basic" feel in it.

I wore this very multi- wear tank top by MIKE Lavares. This is from his upcoming holiday 2011 collection and he was sweet enough to give me this piece a week ago . I apologize for being so excited in wearing it today since the weather calls for a homeless chic reference. Whenever it rains, i always grab them loose , voluminous, drapey garments by default. There must be a philosophical explanation for this.

And since I just went out for a very quick meeting somewhere , I wore my Kermit Tesoro heels for fun. I was silly enough to realize that the shoes arent made of leather hence , the horrible wet marks. Kermit would kill me. He advised me before not to use it in certain circumstances and now i know one circumstance already. I just had to wear them today to practice for tomorrow since I might wear these monsters for the Oxygen fashion show.

Today I attended a quick important meeting. My plates are full right now , like i can't even devote a time for a movie or karaokes and those kinds of stuff. I'm on my 7 day vacation leave but vacation is a technical word in my case because I might be out in the hospital, but I am busy doing commitments with our clothing line, FaDAL Manila , blogging, and in addition to these , I will be contributing to Zink Magazine in their blogged section. It is such an honor. Erin, the Executive Director was the one who included me in their I AM feature for Bullett Magazine a year ago. He sent me an email yesterday asking me if i received their magazine but haplessly , no magazine has landed in my doorstep. Anyway, Im just OVERLY excited because this is something new to me. I was also surprised that he and the team are very much interested with what's going on with the Filipino culture , arts and fashion. It's actually a right timing because it's Philippine Fashion Week and the fashion energy is just vibrant in every individual right now. So be vigilant as i may snap photos of people, scenes , etc . He gave me freedom on how to do my entries but Im still clueless but definitely it's not the Sartorialist type. Something very different and that i still don't know. Bahala na! haaha .

This collection may be untitled but I reckon that this is something special for designer,  Mike Lavarez. He has been known as one of the designers of local Indie label ,  I Love You but it was only now that he joined Philippine Fashion Week. It seems that this is new for him but he knows how to play with his guns. He was kind enough to invite me yesterday to see the clothes and watch the shoot for his collection.  Seeing the pieces reaffirmed his aesthetic which was adamant and evident during his I LOVE YOU years. Surprising. Months prior, there has been rumors that his collection will be florals but good thing, he chose his path. And by his path , it involves somber colors of heather grey, taupe  and charcoal using light stretch fabrics. Expect to see lots of ripped oversized tank tops and leggings , drop crotch tights topped with tank tops with asymmetrical cuts and subtle drapings. There is this avant element injected but true wearability is seen.  I did see a lot of layering and peeling off happening in his looks which I think is extremely interesting. He also made a few necklaces to give a synergistic effect in putting strength in every look. I love this collection. It's minimal but it's complete. Lets all watch his show on May 14 , Saturday 1pm at the SMX Convention (RTW Collection).
