"Grandmother, what big teeth you have got!"

"All the better to eat you up with."

And, saying these words, this wicked wolf fell upon Little Red Riding Hoodless, and ate him all up.

Audi Fashion Festival 2009 - Day 5: Vivienne Westwood

Whether it is flashy cars, impeccable tailoring or simply just stylish people, Audi Fashion Festival 2009 played the perfect medium meshing the best of the asthetic, fashion and media worlds together almost seamlessly.

The 5-day event ended yesterday with a bang, showcasing models strutting down the runway in Vivienne Westwood's A/W Anglomania 2009 collection.
Signature volumous coiffure, draped tartans, and asymmetrical cuts; the red-haired designer was awarded with the Outstanding Achievement Award by Colin McDowell at the start of the show.

(Till we figure out how to resize our video, here's what Vivienne Westwood said in her acceptance video:

"Thank you Fashion Festival for inviting us to show our Anglomania Fashion Collection this evening. And I especially want to say thank you for honouring me with your award for Outstanding Fashion Achievement. Rather than just say have a lovely evening, enjoy the show, I would like to say something useful. All the people who are interested in fashion and especially you young people who are just starting to be fashion designer, you can start, but you WILL NOT continue to be a great fashion designer, UNLESS you involve yourself in your deep interest in culture, in your love of ART and your knowlegde of the past. It's only by that that we'll have depth to understand the present and to create and be inventive for the future. The thing is at the moment that I am practically Traumatized by the problem we face from globing warming. It is REALLY REALLY catastrophic, the disaster we are possibly facing, it's so important that people get involved with that. So having said all that, I will now come back to say one more time, please enjoy your evening, I'm delighted to be with you in spirit and I hope you enjoy our fashion show. " ~ Vivienne Westwood

Many local fashion and media bigwigs were spotted at the various shows over the week:

Daniel Boey (fashion show producer), Wei Chong (designer of Antebellum), Patricia Mok (Actress/Comedian), Ben Yeo (Owner of fashion company retailing cult labels), Dr. Georgia Lee (Asthetic Doctor), Apple Hong (Actress), and Tina-Tan Leo (Owner of The Link).

Although the shows have ended,

The GO RED FOR WOMEN movement is still on till 7 June 2009.

Presented by MasterCard (Official card sponsor for the Audi Fashion Festival), this is an international movement for women to take action against the No.1 killer of women Worldwide - Heart disease and stroke.

Via: AFF

Ten fashion designers from the region (including local designers Jo Soh, Nic Wong, and Keith Png) have each designed a little red dress to be auctioned for the cause. The dresses will be on display at the St. Regis Hotel (8th May – 7th June) and Isetan Scotts (18th May – 7th June).

While at the St Regis, MasterCard cardholders can enjoy the MasterCard Heart Smart Menu at Brasserie Les Saveurs especially prepared for the “Go Red for Women presented by MasterCard” campaign.

You can start bidding via Singapore Heart Foundation, where if you win, not only do you get to have the red dresses custom-made to your size, but also all proceeds will go to the Singapore Heart Foundation.

And if you are already on Facebook, why not join their Facebook Group for greater awareness; Don't be an oblivious victim of these diseases.

Red for a good cause

We've been (red)efined and inspi(red) ever since Bono and Bobby Shriver created (RED) to engage the private sector in the fight against AIDS in Africa.

Celebrities like Scarlett johansson and global influential brands including Apple and Dell have all supported this movement.

Fashion labels like GAP and Emporio Armani have created a range of (product) RED, where portion of profits from each (PRODUCT) RED product sold goes directly to the Global Fund to invest in African AIDS programs, with a focus on women and children.

Collaborating with Ghanaian contemporary artist, Owusu-Ankomah, the Emporio Armani collection represents a tangible and personal connection to Africa.

From fashion to IT, there is no distinction when it comes to giving back to the less fortunate to help families affected by Aids in Africa.

RED is not only use in AIDS awareness, but also in Heart Disease.

Early this month, we saw some leading female celebrities strutting their crimson red gowns down the HEART TRUTH dress collection during New York Fashion Week.

Everything Heart Shaped - An online shopping guide for Valentine's Day

It's been celebrations after celebrations. Just one more day to the end of the Lunar New Year and we are now 7 days away from Valentine's Day.

We won't be surprised if you have not bought or planned anything for your other half.

The team finds out what is being sold on the internet which could be possible ideas for your last minute buys:

For Her,

D'squared heart-shaped coin pouch, Comme des garcon's PLAY eau de toilette, puma limited edition heart-shaped sneakers

"Love Kills Slowly" ~ Ed Hardy

Ed Hardy Love merchandise series

Over at Collette, you could actually find a good mix of products, from lifestyle to fashion to jewellery. Some items include the useless-looking yet oh-so-sweet "I-Love-You" toast stamp, Talking mouse that says "I Love You" each time you click, and the non-conventional heart-shaped poker cards.

Ballerines from Sergio Rossi and Marc Jacob S/S Cruise Collection 2009

Classic Tiffany & CO. locket if you're both prosaical.

For Him,

We absolutely love the Naxos series from Louis Vuitton's Spring/Summer 2009 Menswear Collection. The palette is slightly mutated, yet sophisticated for the stylish men. Naxos is an island in Greece that offers superb fine sand beaches, fertile valleys and mountainous beauty; one of the best holiday destinations among the Greek Islands.

Our choice? The Doctoc Bag Naxos and Cabas Naxos, both functional and excellent for travelling.

Matt and Nat also offer unqiue bags made from innovative products like plastic bottles and recycled lining. Their signature Paltrow is now going for $177, and POZ for only $18. With such a sale on their site, it's hard not to depart from your money.

If he's a true fan of Bathing Ape, you might want to consider getting this Baby Milo Valentine's Day tee-shirt that comes in Black or White.

From Oki-Ni, you can find some really dope merchandise from fashion designers like Martin Margiela, Fred Perry, and Raf simmons.

Martin Margiela sticker wallet, and Fred Perry's odd panel polo-tee.

Jil Sander 2-tone show shoes

For quirky design merchandise, you can try shopping at US site, Designboom.

Old School envelope wallet, USD15.00

My Document Laptop bag, USD 42.00

Can't get enough of Ed Hardy? Check out their embroidered hooded Camou leather jackets for men:

If all else fails,

There's always the credulous fancy cupcakes, which are totally customisable and good to look at.
