Burberry Prorsum Fall Winter 2011 Mens Shoes

Thick chunky rubber sole shoes are everywhere. Today, I am obsessing over Burberry Prorsum's Fall Winter 2011 shoe collection which features a boot-like white/brown rubber soles in an array of shoe designs. From brogues, tassel loafers, boots and sporty trainers... the collection definitely presents more noteworthy footwear options for guys this season.

Are you convince by Burberry's offerings?:-P I like the trainer design, something different and unexpected where sporty style meets boot-like rubber soles!

Zara Fall Winter 2011 Mens Ad Campaign

So which designer’s inspirations have Zara tapped on for this Fall Winter 2011 season? It seems the lines are blurred. But I still see a mix of references and looks taken from Balmain, Jil Sander, Burberry Prorsum and Marni. However, one thing is clear, Fall Winter 2011 season is still a season for colours. Bright tones in deeper shades, the likes of burnt oranges, deep reds are poping up everywhere... hence Zara is not spared. Military styling, thick shearlings and furs, English tailoring and plaids are also strong directions for Zara’s looks or for that matter, each and every designer’s FW2011 collection.

So which are your picks for FW2011 Zara shopping? For me, that red leather biker jacket, red pants, orange trench coat are top picks! We all need some colour to fend off those winter blues:-P

Below: My 3 favourite looks from H&M's Fall Winter 2011 mens collection...

H&M Fall Winter 2011 Lookbook

With H&M opening their flagship store in Singapore come September, let's have a look at what's coming to fill our shopping bags for Fall Winter 2011.

Just got a new batch of lookbook pics for the mens collection and I am loving the 'dandy-esque' styles presented. These are my top 3 favourite looks. Loving the red plaid shirt with double collar (very lanvin-ish), it's a must buy! The bow-tie and suspenders with plaid pants is too cute, retro 1940s chic. Plaids are huge for this Fall 2011 season, so the pants will be a good investment piece.

I am also eyeing that oversized heavy knit cardigan look paired with sweatpants and boots (Balmain anyone?)... perfect for cold weathers or even Singapore's air conditioned environments.

More looks (even ladies!) on my facebook fanpage. Which ones are your favourites? 'LIKE' my facebook fanpage if you enjoy reading this post.

Below: Balenciaga Fall Winter 2011 Ad Campaign...my favourite for the season...

(Click on pics to enlarge for better view)

Balenciaga Fall Winter 2011 Ad Campaign

I love the new Balenciaga Fall Winter 2011 Ad Campaign. The photoshoot captures the idea of contrast for the collection. While play in proportion and textures are a focal point for the ready to wear, the print imagery plays on contrast of patterns, colours and the setting of old vs. new.

Clinical white tiles opposing dark, morbid archways... dark against light, colours vs. monotones. The images embody a certain intrinsic artistic quality associated with the Balenciaga DNA, just like how Nicholas Ghesquière sculpt his creations.

Brilliant job, my favourite campaign for the season.

(The campaign is shot by Steven Meisel and starr models Liya Kebede, Milou Van Groesen, Carla Gebhart, Juliane Grüner and Liisa Winkler.)

Below: Let's check out the new Winter 2011 bags from Céline! Of course, I love all the leather cabas!

Below: New season, new Luggage totes!

Céline Winter 2011 Bags

I am always anticipating Céline's new season launches... we have seen what Fall 2011 will bring. Now it is time to let our hearts start pounding faster for their Winter 2011 collection!

Once again, being a huge fan of Céline's leather cabas... I am immediately drawn to a new variants for this new collection. This time, my vote goes to the Céline's Black Gusset Cabas Mesh (which reminds me of racing cars) with its sexy black leather and traffic-stopping orange interiors. The zipped gusset mesh on the sides is interesting (like materials of racing gloves) and definitely the perfect bag for Singapore's F1 Night Race this September. Get set, ready, go... must grab!

Forest green colour and suede materials are also some of the new updates for my favourite cabas. Orange is the dominant colour for this Winter collection, often juxtapose with a basic tone to accent an unexpected pop of colour.

As for the ever popular Luggage Totes... indisputably, their new cousin, the Luggage Phantom steals the spotlight for Fall Winter 2011 season. I am already a fan of the grey version with fluro orange coloured piping, another ingenious way to introduce those bright orange tones. But if I were to pick a favourite, I'd choose the very 'huggable and furry' Cream Shearling Mini Luggage. It's a design which looked like your adorable teddy bear turned into a bag. How can you resist not bringing it home?:-P

Below: Mulberry unveils an enchanting fantasy filled Advertising Campaign for Fall Winter 2011...

Mulberry Fall Winter 2011 Ad Campaign

Ooooh, I love the new Fall Winter 2011 Advertising Campaign by Mulberry. These beautiful ad imagery bring a sense of surreal fantasy, of those enchanting Enid Blyton stories I read as a child. The whimsical setting of a debilitated English Manor surrounded by oversized birds, owls and foxes also add another layer of story telling for the Mulberry's FW2011 collection concept.

Besides being captivated by the still images as shot by acclaimed photographer Tim Walker (and starring models Tatiana Cotliar and Julia Saner), the campaign video is equally a visual treat and I highly recommend all Mulberry fans to watch it.

Tim Walker’s distinctive style, which plays with proportion to blur the edges of reality, was inspiration for the crew that created the still imagery and also this 52-second short film, now showing on Mulberry.com.

The video features some innovative visual effects by Framestore which is fascinating. The director starts by recording swooping video camera moves of the environment. Using blue-screen technology, they then separated some of the props from the main set, allowing them to create a series of overlaying sequences to complement the rich visual texture. By using a 3D tracking process, Framestore worked these extra assets into the filmed shots, creating a fantastical and innovative combination of the 2D cut-out animations and a live 3D environment. The unique finished film captures the mood of Tim Walker’s luxury-meets-fantasy perfectly, taking the viewer on a magical journey into Mulberry's darkly beautiful new season.

Watch it here!

Below: Giacomorelli Fall Winter 2011 mens collections... More spiked designs for studs-crazed shoe fans!

Below: Giacomorelli Fall Winter 2011 mens collections also sees classic brogues given a new fresh spin with bright coloured accents... Love these... especially the pink haircalf panel design...
Below: I dig these trainers which features a more original studded details... the pair with python skin is TDF!
Below: Dejavu anyone? New colours for the leopard haircalf studded loafers...
Giacomorelli Fall Winter 2011 Mens Shoes

Giacomorelli... a promising young shoe designer from Italy whom I first blogged about here, has just shared with me his latest Fall Winter 2011 Mens Collection. I had coveted those amazing Leopard Haircalf Studded Loafers, and this new season, we see the designer tapping yet again on the appeal of studded designs currently still raging in men's footwear.

The new fall winter 2011 collection offers plenty of studded options to appease any shoe fan, from trainers to loafers and lace-ups. All of which have redeeming qualities despite some resembling a little too close to those infamous red soles. My favourites are the 2 trainers bearing only simple spiked panels on the sides against leopard haircalf (one of my favourite materials) or the studded shoe lace panel against python skin. Both of which are more original and interesting.

Besides studs, get ready for a flash of eye poping colour, bright orange piping and fuchsia pink haircalf panellings on classic brogues which create an interesting dichotomy of tradition vs. funky. Time to get yourself som attention wherever you wear them.

Below: Angelina Jolie is the latest celebrity to be featured in Louis Vuitton's Core Values Ad Campaign. Shot in Cambodia by Annie Leibovitz (Click on image to enlarge for better view)

Louis Vuitton Core Values Ad Campaign Starring Angelina Jolie

Louis Vuitton
unveils their latest Core Values advertising campaign, starring mega celebrity, Angelina Jolie under the watchful lens of Annie Leibovitz.

"We are honoured that Angelina Jolie agreed to participate in our Core Values campaign, whose central theme of travel as both a physical and emotional journey is one with which she can personally identify. Angelina Jolie is a global star in every sense – not only in her career as an actress, but also in her long-term commitment to international humanitarian issues." Pietro Beccari, Louis Vuitton Executive Vice President, Marketing and Communications

Angelina Jolie is a global star in every sense – not only in her career as an actress, but also in her long-term commitment to international humanitarian issues. Someone who truly inspires.

The Core Values campaign pictures Angelina Jolie sitting barefoot in a traditional wooden boat in the luxuriant, watery landscape of Siem Reap province. Next to her is a vintage Louis Vuitton Alto holdall in Monogram canvas, a bag the actress has owned and loved for many years. The tagline reads: "A single journey can change the course of a life. Cambodia, May 2011."

Having described her first encounter with Cambodia as a life-changing experience, Angelina Jolie agreed to be photographed there for Louis Vuitton.

Cambodia and Angelina Jolie shares close emotional ties. She travelled there for the first time in 2000 to film Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, and was overwhelmed by the beauty of its landscapes and the warmth and generosity of its people.

She returned to Cambodia in her role as a United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Goodwill Ambassador, raising awareness of the dangers of landmines, and subsequently adopted her eldest son Maddox from a Cambodian orphanage. In 2005, she was awarded Cambodian citizenship by King Norodom Sihamoni for her humanitarian and conservation work in the country through the Maddox Jolie-Pitt Foundation, which she established in 2003.

Keep a look out for ad in international magazines from Mid June. Keep on the good charity work, Mrs Pitt!

Below: Get ready for Boy Chanel collection this Fall Winter 2011... with designs that bears a strong sense of androgyny... just like the boyish attitude embodied by Coco Chanel...

Chanel Fall Winter 2011 Boy Chanel Collection

Apologies everyone, I misread the press info. The Boy Chanel collection is a woman's range. I guess I was wishing for Chanel man bags for the longest time and hence my misinterpretation initially:-)

This Boy Chanel collection is made for women... but those who embraced boyish charms and wants to exploit the masculine feminine attitudes present in the coming Fall Winter 2011 trends.

Here's extracts from the press info:

Far removed from the conventional feminine clichés, the Boy Chanel bag is immediately seductive and unmistakably different. Its ambivalent design has a hint of the androgynous woman and opens the way to a new kind of appeal. “Do the right thing at the right moment,” Mademoiselle Chanel used to say.

Worn as a shoulder or across-the-body bag, the Boy Chanel boldly asserts its difference, yet at the same time it is firmly rooted in tradition. Karl Lagerfeld suggests this with a new interpretation of boyish charm. “Chanel used men’s underwear to make dresses; she had this boyish attitude, in fact it is the very spirit of Chanel. She got it from Boy Capel, the great love of her life, which, incidentally, explains why the new bag is called the Boy Chanel.”

This famous duality is a fundamental part of the bag, which is inspired by a cartridge bag that was originally made for hunters and was carried by the fashion visionary herself.

And if you are wondering about the signature interlocking C insignia... they will appear subtly on the circular centre of the silvered and aged gold metal buckle, supplemented by a subtle marking of the legendary Chanel name. These bags will be crafted in glazed calfskin in colours of flat red, deep black, intense grey, lead green and brilliant ivory. Choose from three sizes for the 'cartridge' bag, a purse and a large tote (which presumably will be the most sought after).

The wish for Chanel Mens range of bags may have to wait a while longer. But hopefully in the future, the bag gods will answer the prayers of all Chanel male fans!:-P

Below: Burberry unveils new Fall Winter 2011 Ad Campaign for the month of June...

Burberry Fall Winter 2011 Ad Campaign: New Imagery For June

Get ready for new season inspirations. Fall Winter 2011 Ad campaigns are slowly trickling online, bringing on an anticipation for cooler weather.

Burberry has just released their new Fall Winter 2011 Ad campaign (which will follow a similar strategy to their SS2011 season's) where a new set of imagery will be unveiled each month till December.

For June, the ad campaign starrs Jourdan Dunn, Cara Delevingne, Sam Claflin and Felicity Jones. An all British cast that showcases the diversity of the Burberry boy and girl.
‘’I was inspired by iconic British portraits and our own archive campaigns from the late 1960s of Jean Shrimpton using her trench coat to shelter herself from the poetic and romantic British weather. We wanted to create a group of portraits celebrating British actors, musicians and models.’’
Christopher Bailey, Burberry Chief Creative Officer

The campaign also leverages on the beautiful colours of the FW2011 ready-to-wear pieces to build a cohesive colour story. Luxurious croco leather pieces and those furry cow hide prints become the centre of attention in those shots. Accessories are pivotal in sale profits and they are now rightful stars of their own as much as the models themselves.

I especially love the group shot of the Burberry boys... power suited and all ready to conquer the corporate world.

Enjoy the images and video!

Below: Check out the new Louis Vuitton Fall Winter 2011 Ad Campaign...

Louis Vuitton Fall Winter 2011 Ad Campaign

Louis Vuitton's Fall Winter 2011 Womenswear runway presentation may have filled you with evocative feelings of fetishism, old world hotel porters and french maids, the concept for the corresponding ad campaign surprisingly bears little sign of this 'fantasy'. Instead Marc Jacobs and photographer Steven Miesel chose to be inspired by a story of vintage cars and the beautiful female passenger that travelled in them. Varying ideas it may be, the result was nonetheless no less impressive.

Bearing a classic feel and a romance of old world travel... those girls are beckoning out to you to share a ride. Of course... who wouldn't adore the alluring new Fall Winter 2011 bags and accessories that had every fashion fan talking even before debutting in stores (those hand cuffs inspired 'fetish' bracelets and furry bags are TDF!)

The Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter 2011-2012 campaign shoot was a complex and carefully coordinated operation involving not only six young, up-and-coming models, five vintage cars and their chauffeur, but also seven pairs of pedigree dogs.

"Steven Meisel and I met and decided we would do this wonderful story of beautiful vintage cars, little dogs and fresh-faced young women. It's a very classic scenario, and of course it suggests travel, but I think we gave it a fresh, modern and sometimes a little bit naughty, tongue-in-cheek spin." Marc Jacobs, Louis Vuitton Artistic Director

These striking scenes take up the narrative of the Louis Vuitton fashion show at the point where the woman leaves her hotel and steps – along with her pet pooch – into her chauffeur-driven limousine. "Who wouldn't want to be this gorgeous young woman in the back seat of this beautiful car?" asks Marc Jacobs. "And wherever she's going, she's dressed in style this season by Louis Vuitton."

Look out for these fascinating ads in magazines from Aug 2011.

Ad Campaigns And Catalogues #220

Below: With this much of good designs... be ready to fall in love with many of Coach's Fall Winter 2011 mens bags... I know I did... at least these 6 as seen below!

Coach Fall Winter 2011 Mens Bags

Here's more pictures I got from the Coach Fall Winter 2011 press kit I received a week ago. I have to admit, beyond the selection I saw in the showroom... my 'wandering eyes' have also set my heart 'aflutter' to these other designs which I am absolutely loving.

Coach is going ultra masculine with their mens range next season, with a huge focus on utilitarian and functional designs. All the bags featured in the Fall Winter 2011 catalogue made for such user friendly daily companions to hold documents, travel essentials or pretty much anything. I love the duality of both hand grips and shoulder straps in most bags which is most ideal for ease of movement in our urban lifestyle.

Here's a few of my favourites (From top down):

1) Portfolio cases are one of my obsession as does clutches. I don't know why... but I always find guys with minimal to carry very confident and suave. Perhaps by not being burdened by big bags, they send off a vibe of relaxed charm. I am impressed with people who can operate with minimal, a 'feat' which I am still trying to achieve. So these Crosby Portfolio cases are hot on my want list. The Crosby collection is a new range for Fall Winter 2011 and the most elevated out of the entire Coach family of Mens' bags. Everything is top of the line. From the extraordinary natural-grained Italian leather to the Soft Port leather trims to (Indulgent!) 14K gold plated custom hardware, the materials says it all. The authentic crocodile version shown above simply seals the deal for me... finished with just the right amount of metal buckle hardware for a sophistcated and uncluttered look. A Power executive's must have!

2) Besides the Crosby Portfolios... I also love that Crosby Soft Briefcase in deep green leather. Very roomy and classically alluring with subtle gold foil branding. The perfect companion to the office, business trips and even for the gym.

3) Every guy needs a messenger bag. A leather one is the best. These Bleecker Legacy Couriers are such handsome bags, they are ideal for the executives who wants to be taken seriously. No longer will you be mistaken for a 'refuse-to-grow up' high schooler when you sling these over yourself. The minimal design in Soft Port leather, sometimes burnished to showcase the natural beauty of the leather hide evokes a vintage charm while boosting your professional image. I love the tan colour version the best. Hands free days is thumbs up for commuting about our hectic urban lifestyle.

4) But if you need a bigger bag because you are those guys who brings everything, then this Rivington Quilted Tote in black light-weight Italian leather is your answer. I love the quilted design, giving it a Fall Winter feeling of protection. The size will hold anything, and the shoulder strap and long hand strap options let you cross body, hand carry or shoulder sling the bag. Talk about versatility.

5) Besides leathers and canvas, bags exists in other materials as well. How apt for Coach to use Wool Fabrics with graphic patterns to create some of their most interesting Fall Winter designs. I love this Stripe Wool Utility Tote. Needless to say, I was instantly taken in by the pattern on the wool material, very masculine and dandy-ish, a comfy bag to hug for cold winter days:-)

6) If having just interesting wool fabrics alone is not enough for your bags... turn to Coach's new Reversible totes for double the bag fun. This range is literally 2 bags in one for you to reverse to the look you deem most fitting for your mood that day. This smart' ticking stripe grey wool' version shown above on this Wool Reversible Tote gets my vote. Simple, no frills and yet versatile for any situation... from boardroom chic to downtown relaxed. Best part is, if you get tired of the bag at any time, flip and you get to refresh the look! I love choices and this bag gives you just that.

Fall Winter 2011 is looking very promising for Coach's Mens Range. I have already seen Japanese magazines featuring the collection like crazy in the latest issues of UOMO and Leon. If the Japanese loves it, you can be sure that meant something:-)

Below: Wedge soles and brogues have invaded Dior Homme's Fall Winter 2011 collection... All thanks to Prada's infamous SS2011 Wingtips Espadrilles:-P Dior Homme does theirs in rugged style, ready to tread any urban jungle...
Below: Anyone for Dior Homme's Wedge Sole Brogues? Who does it better...Prada or Dior Homme?
Below: Dior Homme's trainers remains my favourite sporty style option... especially with striking red accent colour!

Dior Homme Fall Winter 2011 Mens Shoes

Wedge soles, wedge soles... brogues, brogues, brogues...

These have been the key words for footwear trends this Spring Summer 2011 season. And it's all thanks to Prada's infamous Wingtips Espadrilles which caused this shift in footwear obsession. Suddenly, wearing thick rubber sole shoes becomes an acceptable style for guys who once frown upon Ronald McDonald's chunky shoes.

This 'wedge sole' trend has miraculously survived the summer and seeped into the upcoming Fall Winter 2011 season. Not only does Prada recur the designs, but Dior Homme follows suit with their interpretation as well. Chunky, masculine boots/ brogues anyone? I like Dior Homme's rugged brown leather ones with those gripping soles. But they beg the question for me... are they Dior Homme enough? I leave it in your own opinion.

However, when it comes to trainers with a contemporary edge... no one can challenge Dior Homme's aesthetics. Once again, the collection of new designs for their signature trainers is savvy and very wallet 'seducing'. The use of Fall Winter 2011's most prominent accent colour, Red, adds an welcoming visual punch to the shoes, eye catching but not overpowering!
