Fann Wong and Christopher Lee - The Wedding Banquet in Shangri-la, Singapore

After nearly 40 years (well 38 to be exact) of staying out from the sun, and 435,998,799.05 gallons of bird's nest, Fann Wong is finally walking down the aisle with Malaysian-borned husband, Christopher Lee tonight at Shangri-la, Singapore.
The couple tied the knot earlier this year , not exactly in the best style-ever.
Tonight, Fann will be wearing a strapless bustier Vera Wang wedding gown and custom-made evening gown by Swiss designer label Bally, together with $2.5 million worth of jewellery that she designed with Celestial® by Goldheart. Lee will be suited up in Zegna (but please...do up your tie).

Seems like 2009 is really a good year for weddings (just like how we "predicted"), with Khloe Kardashian who just tied the knot with Lamar Odom on Sunday in a Vera Wang gown too.

Christopher Lee and Fann Wong's wedding will be aired live tonight at 8 pm on Channel 8. (see you at Shang if you're going to be there!)

F1 Singapore Grand Prix 2009 - Beyonce live in Singapore

Underworld, NERD, No Doubt, Linsay Lohan, Black eyed peas, Beyonce, Will.i.am., Samantha Ronson, Lewis Hamilton, and Nicole Scherzinger.

One word:

Gwen Stefani in what resembles Style Damsel's White Tuxedo Jacket.

Beyonce performing the song, " If I were a boy".

Awesome.

Still very much in shock that Beyonce was here, and did my all-time favourite song, "Smash into you". You'll notice that she brought along her world tour band and powerful lungs with her.

Thanks jethron5000 for the footage.

Kudos to the organisors for the Singapore GP, F1 Rocks, and Fuel Party.

Done!

This quilt took much longer to make than I anticipated.

I was happy to hand applique the flower and bug panels. They were fun, and I could knock them out while sitting through ballet and swimming lessons.

The patchwork was quick too. But the quilting was slow! My only previous quilting experience was a baby quilt for a friend, which actually didn't turn out too well. So, I bought a walking foot and a darning foot which were a big help. Even still, it was a hassle. I had to keep picking up my foot and stopping and restarting because I was hesitant to quilt over the appliques.

Utlimately, I ended up using the walking foot to quilt diagonally through the squares. I stitched in the ditch around all the panels and through the pinwheels, and I stippled inside the panels but not over the appliques. This meant lots of stopping and starting and changing of feet which wasn't fun. I even had to hand quilt a bit through the appliques because the wadding I chose had to be stiched at least every three and a half inches.

The pattern I used came from the book Material Obsession by Kathy Doughty and Sarah Fielke. I did not follow the pattern completely. I chose a slightly different colour scheme, and I added some bug appliques rather than using more flower patterns. The copy of the book I had seemed to have a printing error. The paragraph, where they were about to suggest how to quilt the blanket, ends mid sentence at the end of the page! I have no idea how one was supposed to quilt this. I am just very happy to have it finished. Now, I just have to make a matching pillow sham...

Emmy 2009 + Sydney Int'l Food Festival

Sorry we've been spending too much time on the night race and chowing down ketuput with rendang that you might have felt neglected.

So much had happened over the past few days, with the 2009 Emmy coinciding with our Muslim festival, I had no choice but to be glued to the red carpet show on E! We saw a bunch of gorgeous ladies clad in nude-white hues, some hits, and some as always, misses.

Those we love include Drew Barrymore, January Jones, and Olivia Wilde. Sorry Leighton Meester, yours was a complete miss.

Not sure if you had seen the ads for Sydney International Food Festival, you should, if you haven't already.

Food were used to form the flags of the various countries.

I can hear the engines...

Guess which designer said that?

Right, Mr Paul Smith :) on his new fragrance Paul Smith MAN,

Poor guy...

Patrick Cox shop in Tokyo by Sinato

Sinato's Chikara Ohno for a Patrick Cox shop located in Tokyo’s fashion-centric Aoyama district. Light play in the form of "product illumination" was the key concept of this design. Lights are deliberately placed "under" the product, escaping from the usual above-the-head lightings. Products appear more translucent and cannot escape with any of its mustard seed-sized flaws.

Onitsuka Tiger turns 60 with "Made of Japan"

Speaking of books, Onitsuka Tiger celebrates its 60th birthday with a commemorative sports-centric book-like magazine titled, "MADE OF JAPAN".

Made of Japan with traditional book-binding method, "ito-toji"

Founded in 1949 (post-war Japan) by Kihachiro Onitsuka, Onitsuka Tiger later became ASICS (Anima Sana in Corpore Sano) who is one of the fifth largest sportswear brands in the world.

MADE OF JAPAN is spread across 260 pages, featuring the brand’s origins and its future. A collaboration with Zoo magazinne, it documents the brand's influence on artists, athletes and opinion leaders in Japan, the USA and Europe.

The bookazine presents 30 cult icons such as Chiharu Shiota (performance and installation artist), Naomi Yotsumoto (Ping-Pong player), Yusuke Iseya (former model and one of Japan’s most loved actors), Hirofumi Kurino (Japanese fashion industry expert), Thomas Demand (German artist, renowned for his Japanese Origami-inspired by 3D photographs) and former world champion athletes Dave Cowens and Lasse Virén.
