The Material Boy #443

Below: Who wants this pair of tough but statement making Burberry Prorsum Spring Summer 2011 Multi-Strap Gladiator Mens Sandals?

Below: Featured on almost every look on the SS2011 Mens runway, a must have piece that exudes masculine luxe!

Burberry Prorsum Spring Summer 2011 Multi-Strap Gladiator Mens Sandals

This has been one of my favourite footwear for Spring Summer 2011. After looking and scrutinising the details on the pic above, I am even more convinced I love this pair of Burberry Prorsum Spring Summer 2011 Multi-Strap Gladiator Mens Sandals. I love the detailing. From the cris cross straps to the 2 rows of eyelets on the front panel and the brass buckles... it screams tough and luxe!

Priced at HKD5200 (Approx. SGD667), would you invest or pass on this 'widely featured on the SS2011 runway' sandals?

The Math Works for Martin Kaymer

MARTIN KAYMER HAS 8.36 POINTS in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR), which makes him the new No. 1 golfer in the world. After Tiger Woods held the No. 1 spot for a bazillion weeks, there have now been two on top since November 1. Kaymer displaced Lee Westwood (8.16 points) and is the first German since Bernhard Langer to reach golf’s summit, nearly a quarter century after Langer debuted as No. 1 in the new world golf rankings in April 1986.

Kaymer, who this past weekend finished as runner-up to Luke Donald at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship, sounded like he was still in a state of disbelief in a CNN.com story. With an open week in his schedule, the 26-year-old German star said he will have some time to let his accomplishment sink in.

As I’ve said before, I don’t understand how the math behind the OWGR works. I haven’t tried, to be honest. But I do feel better with Kaymer on top. He deserves it. He’s actually been winning golf tournaments.

To review, Tiger Woods remained as world No. 1 until last Halloween despite a lackluster 2010 season. Westwood had two late-season wins in 2009 and one 2010 victory at the St. Jude Classic. Not bad, but certainly not a compelling case for world No. 1. Tiger fell on his own more than Lee knocked him off the pedestal.

Kaymer, on the other hand, has had five wins in the last 13 months, including a major, the PGA Championship. However you do the math, that adds up to world’s best golfer in my book. Martin has played his way to the top—with wins. It’s about winning, ultimately. Or it should be.

Official World Golf Ranking Top 10

(as of 2/27/11)
1. Martin Kaymer
2. Lee Westwood
3. Luke Donald
4. Graeme McDowell
5. Tiger Woods
6. Phil Mickelson
7. Paul Casey
8. Rory McIlroy
9. Steve Stricker
10. Matt Kuchar

Tanya's Townhouse Tour...(Via Made By Girl)

Hello everyone! How was the weekend for you? Mine was super nice (well, for the most part). The best part was having my mom here all last week & a bit during the weekend as well.  Oh yes, & she loved the guest bedroom! I miss her so much already. Sometimes I walk into the guestroom & look over at the empty bed wishing she was still here.  But, thank God, I'll be visiting NYC & get to see her again in May!

This Monday I'm back with a home tour....submitted to me by Tanya.  Both her & her husband live in a townhouse in Ontario, Canada.  She also writes a blog called, Dans Le Towhouse where she showcases all the DIY projects that her & her husband have taken on since buying their first home!  She says they still have LOTS to do, but their goal is to make the house a HOME.

I know exactly what it's like...when we bought our first place, we were determined to make it a home and we did 95% of the renovations ourselves. Needless to say, I am done with large renovations. It was a great experience and did save us LOTS OF CASH, but the time it took is the worst part!!

You really have to COMMIT to getting it all done in a reasonable amount of time, or your place will just be in shambles for months! Trust me...I knew people who started a renovation project & NEVER finished it!  Anyway, on her blog Tanya gives us a glimpse of what it's like outside of the glossy world of magazines!

Thanks Tanya!
