Reed Krakoff Boxer Clutch

I have been a fan of Reed Krakoff's functional and yet industrial aesthetics. And one of his bags from his Fall Winter 2010 collection, the Boxer tote tops my wishlist. (FYI, Mr Krakoff is Coach's creative director)

Well, today, another of Mr Krakoff's creations crept its way up my 'bags-to-covet' list... a smaller cousin of the Boxer family... the Boxer Clutch.

I just love the strap wrap that gives its distinct design feature. Non reliant on huge logos, all design and pure... this clutch serves its functional with such finesse! Simple and understated, but not boring, I love the Boxer Clutch. Perhaps I will find one to examine up close and personal in Tokyo...I hope I do! Who knows, this clutch might just come back with me to Singapore! The moss green (KO/Fatigue) colour is my absolute favourite... drools.

Will Allowing Cell Phones Increase Tour Attendance?

INEVITABLE. THAT SEEMS TO be the word when it comes to cell phones being allowed at PGA Tour events, perhaps as soon as the 2011 season. Cell phones were welcomed at the Wyndham Championship in August as part of a test run. From what I’ve read, the experiment was successful. No cell phone mishaps were reported.

Golf Channel has reported that there will be two more trials, one at this week’s Chevron World Challenge in Thousand Oaks, California. The other test venue will be the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines in early 2011.

The reasoning, according to Golf Channel:
... the PGA Tour has been discussing the cell phone policy for several months and feels that, in today’s world, fans can become disconnected for long periods of time while on the golf course. Their hope is that allowing people to carry a cell phone while at a tournament will help grow attendance.
Cell phones, of course, must be silenced or set on vibrate. And a new policy allowing cell phones at PGA Tour events wouldn’t apply to the majors, which are governed by other bodies.

But would new cell phone guidelines add fans at tour events?

I’m not so sure about that. It will certainly remove an annoyance for current spectators and a potential obstacle to others who might wander out for an event. But a sudden uptick in attendance seems doubtful.

There are bound to be occasional cell phone incidents, and tour pros—especially those with rabbit ears—will likely claim to hear them go off, vibrate, etc. They’ll have to live with it because cell phones are here to stay. Keeping them off the golf course just isn’t realistic.

Glimpse into My Thanksgiving Weekend Trip...(Via Made by Girl)

Isn't it FRUSTRATING trying to get into the swing of things after getting back from a Holiday trip?!? I've got a TON of emails to catch up on amongst other things & all I want is to be outside in the sun (even if it is cold).

Well, for those of you who weren't aware, my guy SURPRISED ME with a Thanksgiving wknd. getaway to California. He planned the whole trip, every single stop!

He knew I was dying to visit the Getty as well as the MOCA and he took me straight there! It was such an amazing experience to be around all these great paintings. Of course.... I LITERALLY got goose bumps when I came across Mark Rothko & Franz Kline (2 of my all time faves).

above: A Franz Kline original painting....I was mesmerized.

below: the delicious carrot cake we bought at the Getty cafe

These 2 paintings of Jesus were especially touching...

Below: I was so excited when I got to the area where the HUGE Mark Rothko paintings hung, wow.

Below: don't ask, I totally forgot who did this....
P.S. it's by Cy Twombly, thanks to Devon.

below: the Getty had several outdoor areas with SPECTACULAR views of the city, my jaw dropped when I first saw this. Trust me, this picture doesn't do it justice!

Besides paintings, they also had a ton of sculptures and old European decor items.

I'm so grateful that I got my dose of culture because LV is seriously LACKING in that department! Have you visited the Getty or MOCA? What museum would you recommend??

We also headed to Palm Springs to see the Elvis Honeymoon Hideaway.  After seeing it featured in Rue Magazine, (I expressed my interest in going) my guy decided to take me there!

Stay tuned for those pics soon!

Artefact 2010 Collection

My heart and my brain are exalting like fireworks right now as i embed on my blog the html codes of the photos i snagged from www.eglecekanaviciute.com , the designer of the brand ARTEFACT. Actually ,ive seen this from dirtyflaws' blog months before but being a sufferer from mild to moderate amnesia, i neglected the act of telling the world how much i die for these pieces! But today i present you , though its long overdue, the lookbook/ editorial / sketches of ARTEFACT. Others would sell scrotum just to have the blazers and those yellow dresses from Lanvin x H&M collection but i'm a cray cray and things that fascinates me are strangely different . It would rather reveal how loopy i could be to an extent but that's the path i took.

I love the exaggerated deconstructed dresses and cover ups. e.g Blazer turned into a skirt . i love her way of manipulating the clothes. e.g. cropping , draping , crazyand rebellious tailoring

I need the legbrace and the plastic shoulder piece right now. I work in the hospital and i know how much those shiny molded plastics cost.. I am quite aware that i enjoy incorporating hospital stuff in my wardrobe. remember the gauze that i made as a belt? real blood as a paint?

Who would think of it as a wearable item? an accessory? and why not! As expected there'll be violent reactors who would claim that this is an act taunting the orthopedic patients.. i think not ...ever!
