Roaman's Guide to Stretching Your Dollars this Holiday Season

The Roaman's blog is not a financial series by any means but with the stock market and our financial system in its state today, one must learn to be agile and flexible with spending and budgeting to survive this holiday season. Here are some of the tips:

1. Create a monthly budget. List out all of your fixed expenses (rent, utilities, phone bills, etc.) as well as variable expenses (dining out, groceries, clothing, movie nights, etc.). As you put your list together, you'll spot the spikes and areas where you can cut back to put a little more money away for rainy days.

2. With a budget in place, here are some areas to consider reducing your spending: Coffee shops (try buying your own coffee from Starbucks and brew it at home, you can get a lot more servings and it taste just as good!); Cable TV (do you watch all 300 channels? Review your cable, telephone package to see if you can cut back a little or find out if your cable provider offer a better package deal. Eating out (try to buy more healthier, organic groceries and eat at home and pack your lunch). Personally speaking, this is where I could really use some cut back.

3. Shop around and look for great savings online. With the holiday season approaching, large retailers are rolling back on prices. Check on your favorite affiliate sites for the best coupons and deals for apparels, electronics and more. Some vendors are even pushing out Black Friday offers before Thanksgiving.

At Roamans.com, we understand value and quality. For the most part, we keep our prices low to give our customers' cashflow a longer stretch. Check back on our website or this blog frequently to find the savings for our customers. We also have a dedicated coupons section for premier discount codes.
