5 Easy Money Saving Tips

Although there are conflicting reports about where we stand in this economic crisis, the fact is, it is far from recovering. And with the tough economy comes the hard task of saving money to prepare for a rainy day. Of course saving a penny – regardless of economic stability- is always harder than spending a penny…or two. But here are five easy tips that you can do today to help your wallet stay as full as possible.

1) Bag it, don’t buy it!
Your lunch, that is! I, for one, am a culprit of this habit as it is much easier to buy than to carry lunch to work, especially if you commute by public transportation. But by bagging your lunch even once or twice a week can earn you some great dividends at the end of the week.

2) Get ATM withdrawals from your own bank.
There is no reason why you should be paying the bank to use your own money. Unless you are stuck in the middle of nowhere with only one bank to grab your money from (although middle of nowhere probably won’t have a running bank to begin with) chances are, you can afford to drive the extra mile or walk the extra step to your bank and not have to pay a service fee that sometimes runs up to $2.50.

3) Stay Healthy!
There’s nothing more straining on your budget than having a stack of medical or hospital bills piling up on your kitchen cabinet. Of course, there are situations affecting your health one can’t control, but there are also many things you CAN control. Eating better for example, helps build a better immune system that in turn helps to protect against viruses. Exercising is also beneficial to your heart and overall well-being. Plus, now that the weather is getting warmer there are lots of activities to enjoy outdoors ranging from hiking, to bike riding to swimming. Your wallet will thank you.

4) Coupons! Coupons!
The next time you go grocery shopping, don’t leave home without them! It’s amazing what a few cents off products can do to your bottom line purchase. Naturally, coupons are found in newspapers and mail you receive at home, but there are also plenty coupon sites online where you can sign up to receive offers on a daily basis! Even better, search for ‘freebie’ offers online where you can get lots of free items just for trying a particular brand. So many coupons, so little time!

5) Bargain Shop!
One of the best ways to refresh your outfit this summer is to be a smart shopper! Look for great sales not only at your favorite store but also online- and save gas too!
Roaman’s, for example, always offers a great selection of new fashion at affordable prices- and the sales are phenomenal! The
