Sewing for Kids (is a thankless task!)

When my daughters see me sewing something for myself, they immediately ask when I am going to sew something for them.  They are only 3 and 6.  In the end, I feel guilty and sew them something.  I've learned to choose something quick and simple, and to involve them in the decision making as much as possible.  Even so, this dress was rejected.  Daughter number 1 agreed to a sun-dress and chose the fabric.  When it was finished she said she didn't like it.  I said that's OK, I won't make you wear it, we'll just give it to a friend or something.  Cue tears.  Seems she doesn't want to wear it, but she still wants to keep it.  This kind of thing drives me crazy.

At least this only took up a morning.  The pattern was a free download too.  (You hardly need a pattern for this, but it is nice to have some one else work everything out for your neatly.)  The pattern download is on the Oliver + S website.
