Singapore Provision Shops

One of the old Singapore traditions has been the so-called provision shops, which there were about 1,200 during the 1970s, but today, only around 200 remain. These shops operate with some of the more traditional, iconic shop tools, such as the abacus, also known as a counting frame.

Now, the Singapore National Heritage Board has started a new campaign to keep some of these traditional provision
